UPERFECT in Review: 17.3-inch Monitor as a Second Display for On the Go
Suppose you want a second display for your notebook or a larger screen for your Nintendo Switch when you're on the go. In that case, the UPERFECT 17.3-inch monitor is the right choice: Available in 4K or Full HD, the monitor is easy to install, connect, and ready to use. For its size, it is pleasantly compact, even if the frame could be smaller. Its screen size is primarily aimed at people who like to keep an overview and prefer more screen space over mobility.
UPERFECT advertises its 17.3-inch monitor directly in the headline as a gaming monitor. Practical tests show a low delay, so occasional gaming on the 4K screen is not a problem. Especially if you want to play a round of Mario Kart on Nintendo's mobile console when you're on the go, for example, during Mario Kart, fun is also had on the UPERFECT screen, as are quieter games like adventures playable on the monitor.
The presented device is not only beneficial for gaming. With a 17.3-inch screen diagonal and optional 4K or Full HD resolution, the monitor offers enough screen space to handle video or audio editing. Even if you want to keep an eye on several audio tracks, for example, you won't lose track with the UPERFECT monitor. In addition, a second monitor is suitable, among other things, for extensive literature research in a dual-monitor setup. While the text is being worked on one screen, the source text can be displayed on the other. Although the first multi-display notebook concepts are now available, they are not yet established today. With the 17.3-inch monitor from UPERFECT, you always have the choice: you can leave the screen at home or put it in your bag.

Computer performance is not enough
Unlike smaller monitors, the UPERFECT screen needs its own power supply and cannot simply be powered by
Where there is much light, there is also much shadow, as an old German proverb says. The latter, unfortunately, can be found surprisingly quickly on the screen, because: If you use the UPERFECT monitor for media playback, you use headphones or external speakers at best. Similar to the monitors from Auvisio, the image on the monitor is convincing, but not the sound. The two 1-watt speakers are more of an emergency solution. Also, the display volume cannot be controlled via the function keys of macOS. So if you want to change that, you have to navigate through the, at least clear, menu.
Setting up the monitor is simple: the manufacturer supplies a case that doubles as a monitor stand. Initially, our colleague Timm Mohn included the UPERFECT monitor in his bag; meanwhile, the screen is only carried in its bag. Unlike normal desktop monitors, the UPERFECT screen does not come with a stand. If the position on the table is too low for you, you can quickly get inventive: two to three standard game boxes are enough to bring it to a comfortable eye level. Particularly noteworthy is the VESA mount on the back of the monitor: it can be easily mounted on the table and does not have to be set up with the included cover. If you buy a VESA mount, you should also order suitable screws (6x4mm) so that the screen does not wobble during operation.
Your budget will certainly play a role in deciding for or against 4K resolution. The monitor costs only half as much if you save the high resolution: The Full HD version costs $33,999, while the 4K version costs $689.99. While the screen is unfortunately not available in local electronics stores, it can at least be ordered in the Full HD version via Amazon.de. If ordered from the shipping giant, the price is 399.99 euros. Small tip: If you wait long enough on the manufacturer's product page, a chat message will automatically appear asking if you are interested in an $80 voucher. This makes the 4K version even cheaper.
